Hello, Spring!
Spring is here and I am ready to shed some layers!
The Spring Equinox came and went and I am fully prepared to embrace all the new life, new surroundings, AND some new fashion! Woohoo!
Our sustainable and ethical fashion journey started a little over 8 months ago so this is my FIRST spring fully aware and conscious of what I put on my body from head to toe! I am so so excited to share all the amazing brands that I have discovered over countless hours of research, videos and trial & error!

Simply Grey Life

I found this amazingly beautiful brand by pure luck; Martin’s mother recommended a little boutique near to our home and as soon as I walked in I was floored by all the stunning linen pieces. I was ecstatic when I found out that it was an Etsy shop as well, and a thriving one! Every time Kamila, the owner, posts a new photo on her Instagram Feed, I am seriously tempted to order some more!
For spring, I ordered two of her amazing linen skirts in ochre and rooibos tea. I also ordered the boys some matching linen overalls in natural.
Spring tips: You can never go wrong with a natural linen color and it always looks good for spring/summer. If you are unsure of which color to choose, always go with natural!
LinoColore
This amazing shop, Lincolore, is located in Ukraine and offers free shipping Worldwide. This is another Etsy find that tremendously helped me on my journey to build the perfect Spring capsule wardrobe and stay within budget!
Every piece from this shop is made from 100% pure Italian linen. Linen is one of the MOST biodegradable (and stylish!) materials in fashion.
Some of my favorite pieces from this brand are; the linen duster (image), various linen dresses and the amazingly comfortable and versatile linen pants!
People Tree

People Tree is a pioneer of the sustainable fashion movement and they know what women want!
I ordered two of their bodysuits (one in black and one in white) and consistently use them over and over again. The suits are made with 100% organic cotton and “Every product is made to the highest ethical and environmental standards from start to finish”.
These body suits are great for skirts, shorts, jeans, joggers…you name it. Every capsule wardrobe needs these bodysuits in my opinion.
People of Leisure
This unique boho shop, located in Los Angeles, is anything but average. Their dresses and jumpsuits are absolutely phenomenal. I can not believe how ridiculously comfortable their fabric is!
The first time I tried on this yellow dress, I was ready to sleep in it. It was like trying on a cuddly blanket, but in a good way! haha.
I cannot speak highly enough about this beautiful and sustainable brand; they deserve so much recognition for their amazing line.
Organic Basics
Every single wardrobe needs a few staples; crisp white t-shirts, comfortable and nude bras, and underwear that works wonders under dresses, shorts and skirts!
Organic Basics is my go to for all things underwear and for good reason; they actually care about their clients. Every item is consciously created and designed to last. Their new silver tech line is even made so that you can wear more and wash less!
My recommendations: I love the packs; they not only save money but they really help you to stay organised while shopping. It may seem a bit overwhelming when transitioning to organic/sustainable/ethical underwear so these are very helpful!
I ordered the bra pack, undies pack and white t-shirt pack. I look forward to trying out their athletic line very soon!
Bibico
This brand caught my eye while searching for some spring dresses and cardigans. I am hooked!
Bibico has such and amazing spring line and each piece is perfect for a capsule wardrobe! Their line is so feminine but simple…I absolute adore it.
They are fair trade, sustainable and fully slow fashion; take a look at their spring line here!
My choices for this spring season: This stunning linen dressing in moss (or denim!), this white t-shirt and this denim skirt!
My linen dress is currently on the way*
Bhava Studio
The best accessory to the perfect t-shirt and skirt? The shoes!
I have talked so many times about this brand before and here it is yet again; Bhava Studio
They say it better than I ever could, “At BHAVA Studio, we do not believe it is necessary to use leather for premium footwear, and have always been and will always be an animal free company. In addition, we believe that a truly compassionate approach to design needs to go beyond using leather alternatives to include the environment, working conditions, and finally to protect you, our loyal supporters and of course your feet:)”.
This is a company that not only reinvented the wheel with their 3-in-1 boots (ankle-knee high-over the knee) but they also keep up with the trends so beautifully and slowly!
I highly recommend their beige/ivory line for spring. I will be sporting my favourite 3-in-1 boots for as long as I can until I go barefoot :)!
Ethletic Shoes
If you are looking for the most comfortable sneakers/flats to wear around town while having a chat with a friend, chasing after your little ones or even enjoying solo walks by the water…this is the brand for you!
Ethletic shoes has such an amazing variety of sneakers and flats and it was so hard to choose just one! The company is amazing; “The people who work for Ethletic aren’t numbers on a balance sheet or a cost factor for us. We know these people. We appreciate them and their skills, their commitment, their history.”
My choice: Dancer in Pewter Grey
The Tote Project
I used to have a serious addiction to purses; I would go out and buy all the latest “fad” purses and then end up carrying around my reusable cloth tote due to comfort, size, and ease.
What did I learn from this? Well…I learned that I needed to concentrate more on finding the best TOTE and less on wasting my hard earned money on purses that never seemed to work out in the end.
I found this company, The Tote Project while searching for the perfect cloth bag that could not only hold groceries and random odds and ends but would also be fashionable enough to carry around while running around the streets of Italy.
Ready to Shop?! Now hold on for just a moment…
Alright, Mama. It’s time to calm down on the urge to click away and take the time to organize!
One major lesson that I learned from joining the slow fashion movement is to take my time, get organized and only buy when I 100% know that this piece will be loved, adored and worn over and over again!

What a fabulous list. My daughter is currently majoring in fashion design with an emphasis on sustainability. The more I talk with her, the more I understand why it is so important. I wonder if she knows all these brands.
I absolutely love how fashion design schools have this option now, it’s amazing. I am sure she knows about People Tree, they were actually featured in the Netflix Movie; True Cost! That is the movie that opened up my eyes to the movement and made me think twice (and then even more) about where my money goes. I wish your daughter all the best in her sustainable career!! You must be such a proud mama!
